Our commitment to our planet … and our clients

How we are making a difference?

Indicatura is proud to be a member of the SME Climate Hub, a global initiative that empowers small to medium sized companies to take climate action and build more resilient businesses. Through the SME Climate Hub, we commit to lowering our impact on the environment through authentic action, halving our emissions by 2030. In making the commitment, we have joined the United Nations Race to Zero campaign.

Working with the SME Climate Hub we have been able to enact the first part of our vision which is to make a positive difference to our planet by setting in motion the plan to reduce our own carbon footprint. In 2021 we pledged our commitment, created our baseline and set our targets. Throughout 2022 and 2023 we have begun to implement positive changes such as offsetting some of the carbon produced through our ‘business as usual activities’ and started work on a long term plan that will allow us to see bigger and more impactful reductions in our carbon footprint. We are mindful that as a fast growing consultancy, it is important that we include steps to ensure our growth doesn’t hinder our commitment to a more sustainable future. We are extremely proud of the hard work of our team who have allowed us to take such significant steps forward in our journey to net zero.

What makes us different?

We can do more so much more than simply reduce our own carbon footprint. We can also have a huge impact on our clients sustainability and carbon goals.

Sustainability and carbon efficiency is fast becoming the priority of many business leader’s strategies. Over the last two years, we have expanded and developed our unique proprietary methodology to allow our clients to view sustainability and carbon as another value lever when considering their capital investment projects and indeed wider business strategy.

“The majority of our clients now approach us with sustainability hard coded into their strategic objectives, but unsure on how to deliver in this area and this is where we can help.” Explains Ian Kennedy, Managing Director

We have already helped many of our clients align with their sustainability targets and given them the commercial advantage of insight with data backed projections that means they can make a decision that aligns with their carbon goals whilst still sustaining a profitable and thriving business. We look at sustainability not as a siloed tick box, but as part of the whole picture and with the same level of consequence that other value levers such as CapEx, OpEx and risk often hold. We understand the passion and necessity for business’s to meet these targets but equally understand that your business must be thriving to do so.

Our services give business leaders the power of the whole picture and the confidence to stand by the decisions they make for the future of their business and our planet.

What does different look like for our clients?

But what does this really mean for business leaders? We can talk the talk, but nothing quite measures up to real and tangible results. So to give you a example, recently, for one of our Oil & Gas clients we were able to demonstrate that making the right choices when selecting process technologies for their capital project, would lead to a 75% reduction in carbon emissions. In the context of this project, that has the same impact that 10 million trees would have living for 25 years!

Ultimately this analysis then gave the decision makers the confidence and validation they needed to prove their investment strategy.

We also helped disprove preconceived ideas surrounding the major emission contributors, allowing them to focus their energy – and cash – on the improving areas that were actually most problematic.

This is just one example of how we help our clients and we are excited to be part of the solution on the critical journey to Net Zero.
