The Challenge
A major defence organisation needed to optimise the future configuration of critical operational facilities supporting complex waste management processes. Multiple potential operational scenarios, evolving demand forecasts, and infrastructure constraints created uncertainty around future investment decisions and the long-term effectiveness of the existing estate.
Our Approach
Indicatura applied its KBEE® methodology to evaluate a range of future operating scenarios and infrastructure configurations. Through Whole-Life Value analysis, simulation modelling, demand forecasting, and option appraisal, we assessed alternative facility layouts, operational models, and investment strategies to identify the optimum balance between cost, performance, risk, and sustainability.
The Outcome
The programme delivered a robust evidence base for future investment planning. Multiple viable scenarios were developed and tested, enabling the organisation to understand the operational, financial, and strategic implications of different infrastructure configurations and identify the options offering the greatest long-term value.
